Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Share Photos of Daughter Lilibet at Her First Birthday Party

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated daughter Lilibet Diana’s first birthday at Frogmore Cottage on Saturday, June 4, and they finally shared the adorable photos from the intimate family gathering. Unfortunately, Kate Middleton and Prince William were not in attendance as they had a prior commitment for a Platinum Jubilee event for the Queen. 

Photographer Misan Harriman posted a portrait of Lilibet sitting on the grass in one photo posted to Instagram, her red hair thick and wavy. In the second image, Markle holds Lilibet alongside Harriman’s wife and two daughters.

Harriman is a friend of Markle’s who also took the photo that she and Prince Harry used as their pregnancy announcement in February 2021.

The parents of two welcomed their first daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, on June 4, 2021, adding to their growing family. Markle gave birth to the couple’s first child, son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, on May 9, 2019.  

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose their daughter’s name for its family connection and significance. Lilibet is the nickname of her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who is often called that by family members and in her private letters. Her middle name, Diana, is of course a nod to Prince Harry’s mother, Diana, the Princess of Wales.
